Culturally focusing all human attention at the same moment to “new year’s day” as the “beginning” of a year, rather than our personal solar return, which would spit attention to inward focus and our families and cycles of love and birth- which in this instance was being used for a spell I can’t yet explain but it’s related to the chains of time, punching a clock at work, endless cycles of Chronos eating his own children, – is something about harvesting our attention creative energy and focusing all our attention like a laser beam. Also, something about the “tradition” of being completely shitfaced at midnight allows entities to ride through the gateway into the “new” cycle on our backs… and we are the ones who pay the price with hangovers..
Also… the cognitive dissonance of calling the middle of sleep in winter season as “the new start” instead of in the true spring.
New Year’s resolutions are futile because mustering energy when we are not yet fully refreshed by winter sleep is cruel and bound to fail, while also making us weaker. – setting us up for personal failure.
So many hidden agendas. We rise like phoenix.
