Construct an altar to the appropriate spirit. This ritual is most often associated with Aphrodite, Ezili Freda Dahomey, or Oshun, but potentially any spirit of beauty may be addressed. Men may direct petitions to spirits renowned for male good looks: for instance, Adonis, Apollo, Ganymede, or Shango.
Place makeup, jewelry, fragrance, or a handkerchief or glove on the altar.
Allow it to stay overnight or longer to absorb the spirit’s power and aura. Clearly articulate your intent and desires to the spirit.
Explain that the item will be removed, that although it is on the altar, it remains in your possession. It is a good idea to offer a gift to the spirit at the same time.
Request its blessing; ask it to empower the item.
Wear the item when you need some of the spirit’s power transmitted to you.
